Studies in recent German Philology, Political Science, History, Sociology, Pedagogics and Theology at the Johann Wolfgang-Goethe-University, Frankfurt, Germany (Graduation in 1974 (first Degree) and 1976 (PhD)).

Professional activities

1978 to 1988: Dramatic advisor, assistant director, festival director, author and lecturer: Nationaltheater Mannheim, Ulmer Theater, Freiburger Theater, Schauspiel am Staatstheater Stuttgart. Co-founder of “Theater for Children” (Schnawwl – Nationaltheater Mannheim); Co-director of the Wiblinger Festival (Ulm); Director of the Freiburger Theaterfestival (Freiburg).

1988 to 2000: Cultural Manager and Promotional Director of the City of Stuttgart; Director of the Stuttgarter Hofkonzerte (opera, concerts, chamber music); curator, theatre director and artistic director (Varieté Theatre of the City of Stuttgart – also 1st international Varieté Festival in Germany 1991).

Involvement in specific events:
Nature in Mind, interdisciplinary international conference on the current conception of nature (Stuttgart 1993), “Languages of the Body” dance biennial (1993, 1995, 1997 in Stuttgart), Rituals of Transformation: Mozart’s Requiem and Yamantaka/Mahakala Rituals; Artistic Director: Orfeo (Monteverdi), Carmina Burana (Orff), “präzise vergnügen” (Stuttgart School of poetry, school of Max Bense).

Performances:
40th Anniversary of the foundation of Baden Wuerttemberg (Karlsruhe); presentation of the City of Stuttgart in an inter-municipal contest organised by the TV station ZDF; several New Year Receptions for the Federal State of Baden Wuerttemberg.

2000 to 2005: Rector of the University Mozarteum Salzburg, re-election in 2003. Renovation of the University Mirabellgarten; establishment of the 1st Digital Music Studio; 1st international evaluation of an Austrian Music University; implementation of two Austrian Acts of Parliament in University institutions; foundation of the 1st brass philharmonic orchestra; foundation and financing of the scientific research programm “Man&Music”; financing and direction of the International Mozart Competition 2002 and 2006; initiation and hosting of two conferences entitled “Man&Music” in Salzburg.

2006-2009 Co-founder, proprietor and CEO of the Sanoson Company in Vienna; initiation of and programme development for the “Mozart&Science” International Congresses on Interdisciplinary Research into the Effects and the Experience of Music (2006 in Baden, 2008 in Vienna).
